Remembering Chairman Elijah Cummings

We have lost a true champion.  Rep. Elijah Cummings was a fierce and tireless advocate for children, for civil rights, for his beloved Maryland and for his vision of a nation that lived up to its deepest values.  As we go forward without him, we will draw strength from the example he set for us. He spent a lifetime fighting for a more just world with integrity, courage, unwavering dedication and unfailing kindness. 

Our thoughts are with his family, his friends and his fellow members of Congress as they grieve. He cannot be replaced and he will be deeply missed.
