Civil Rights & Confronting White Nationalism

Our civil rights are under attack. From ripping families apart at the border to entrenching religious discrimination in our laws with the Muslim Ban to destroying protections for LGBTQ people to abandoning civil rights enforcement in the Justice Department, the Trump Administration has chipped away at our civil rights at every turn. We are dedicated to defending civil rights for all people and attacking the systemic inequities built into our institutions. Together, we fight to protect the dignity and freedom of every person, regardless of their race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, immigration status or disability status.

Hate crimes and white nationalist organizations are on the rise and the federal response is anemic at best. We must improve data collection, rigorously enforce civil rights protections, and fight racist ideology at every turn. We must take action to address the white nationalist violence that is threatening our communities and fomenting racism, sexism, anti-semitism, anti-muslim bigotry, xenophobia, homophobia and transphobia. We stand united against this threat to our communities and our deepest values.
