Democracy & Voting Rights

Voter suppression and voter purges. Racist gerrymandering. Floods of dark money.  Foreign interference. Our democracy is under attack.  

We know our democracy works best when everyone has a voice and a vote.  That means we are fighting to expand access to the vote including ending voter purges, making voting and registering easier, and enfranchising incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people. That means we fight for fair elections. That means we fight against the corrosive influence of corporate money in our elections and corporate lobbying in our laws. That means we fight for a fair census and a fair redistricting process. That means we fight for statehood for DC and self determination for Puerto Rico and U.S. territories. The struggle for voting rights has always been at the center of the progressive movement.  A functioning democracy is fundamental to winning on every other issue that matters.
